The principal is a qualified Solicitor. In 1979 the qualification was extended to include Notary Public.

Since approximately 1997 the company elected to practise as a Notary Public alone.

The qualification is slightly different from a Solicitor. A Solicitor is confined to the United Kingdom jurisdiction. A Notary is recognised for endorsement of various documentation which is required outside the United Kingdom.

In addition the qualification of Notary Public entitles the Notary to practise in all respects with the exception of litigation.

A Notary Public is traditionally appointed by the Archbishop of Canterbury. Prior to the Reformation the Notary was under the jurisdiction of Rome.

In addition to the work undertaken in our capacity as Notary a parallel company was created in the mid 1990’s to deal with domestic conveyancing. This company is supervised by the Council for Licensed Conveyancers.
